The Purpose
Airstream is an iconic travel brand known mostly for its “silver bullet” aluminum travel trailers that stand the test of time. But they also build luxury touring coaches, constructed on the chassis of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans.
In an effort to promote the Airstream Interstate line, we began concepting lifestyle content ideas that could showcase its capabilities.
We’d built relationships over the past several years with travel & lifestyle influencers - people who were already creating their own authentic content on social media and their websites about life on the road. We had a collaborator in mind already, and reached out to the Wynn family.
About the Wynns
Around 2010, Jason and Nikki Wynn sold their home, packed up their things, and hit the road in an RV. They documented their epic road trip on their blog, Gone With the Wynns, and fit right in line with the Airstream brand’s purpose: to inspire and enable people to live a life of travel and adventure.
We went forward planning our guide to the best-kept-secrets across the country – farms, wineries, and breweries across five regions of the United States. The idea was to inspire road trips and destinations that felt rustic and special.
The Result
We found that among both the Airstream diehards and members of our audience who were interested but hadn’t yet taken the leap into RVing, there was a desire for lifestyle content that didn’t make a direct sales pitch.
This guide is valuable content and could actually be used to plan a road trip, increases awareness about the Airstream Interstate touring coach line, and told a story that fit with the larger brand purpose, romanticizing life on the road.
